So I finished the training campaigns and have done some of the ''advanced'' training ones and are looking for next campaign to play. I have played a bunch of custom made battles but I prefer campaigns with core units that go from battle to battle. The problem is most campaigns are hard, either having you having to assault a huge force or having no/little resupply, refitting and replacement meaning any error resulting in high losses will stop the campaign. I am looking for any campaign in any of the second generation combat mission games (Expect Cold war since I don't own it) that is not very huge where you have decent resupplying and are overall more manageable for less experienced players.
Professionally bad at the games
Provided you are referring to Combat Mission Battle for Normandy (CMBN) campaigns, then if you will forgive the appearance of my being self-serving, then the easiest to play campaign is my Operation Coup de Main. Actions are generally (but not always) smaller and there is a mix of defensive (very easy) and offensive (easy to moderate) actions.
Carpe vitam.
I’d take a look at Road to Montebourg in CMBN — it’s one of the more manageable campaigns and doesn’t feel like it’s trying to punish you for every small mistake, plus you do get chances to refit so losses don’t completely snowball. 🪖
If you’re open to custom content, Devil’s Descent is another good one that stays smaller in scale and feels more forgiving for newer players while still giving you that core-unit continuity you’re looking for. 🍻🗺️😄
