CMSF2 4vs4 RED vs RED Campaign - Kick Off

There’s not much site content for the Modern CM games, so let’s change that! I’m ready to kick off a CMSF2 Campaign that has been in the works for almost a year, that is based on the Gunsalot/OnePingOnly Cinematic Universe 😉. It requires players to have CMSF2 and the Marine and NATO modules. This campaign is set during the civil war in the fictional Middle Eastern country of Dahran. Dahrani Army forces loyal to the King have been instructed to crush a rebellion in the city of As Sunayah, which is the capital of As Sahm Province. This is a TEAM campaign of company(+) -level battles for 8 players, divided into Dahrani Army/Loyalist and Rebel teams, represented by Syrian and Unconventional Fighter/Combatants in CMSF2. The 4 players on the Army side and 4 players on the Rebel side will win or lose the campaign together. Players will take on the roles of battlefield commanders for 4 different units on each side, and will deploy and move their units around a simplified map of As Sunayah and the surrounding territory. One player per side must take on the role of Team Leader, and allocate certain types of units and special events to different Unit Commanders during the campaign, in consultation with other players. The campaign will last 5 rounds (5 battles per player), during which each side will attempt to maintain or earn victory points by controlling certain map areas by the end of the campaign. Scenarios will be set up by the GM based on a “fixed” TOE for each side, with player modifications (see below). Most of the maps are repurposed stock maps from the CMSF2 collection, but some will be custom or from the “All In One” modest (not required). Various types of terrain will include desert/rough, farmland, and urban. Urban terrain is dominant. The campaign uses a Command Point system in which commanders can use the CP’s to “buy” support units to add to their standard TOE. There are also Special Events that can be played to gain an advantage. Each unit will be tracked for casualties, which may impact availability of forces in later battles. One key tension in the campaign is that the Rebels have more troops but less firepower than the Loyalists/Army. If they can inflict high casualties even when losing games, the Loyalists may have insufficient strength to win the campaign. Thanks to @aurelius , @nathangun @spoogles @bleskaceq for playtesting. Keep in mind that you are signing up for 150 turns worth of gameplay over probably 10 months. Vacations, work trips, and real life stuff will be accommodated, but its still a commitment.
