History Channel presents "World War II with Tom Hanks" globally.
The channel will broadcast this 20-episode television event in two parts: an initial run of eight episodes, from Monday, May 25, until the start of the FIFA World Cup, and a second block that will begin once the tournament has ended.
Hoping this will be good.
One of the most horrible features of war is that all the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting.
- George Orwell, Homage To Catalonia
I started watching this series. I believe it lives up to all his other works. You will not be disappointed.
However it does require a subscription to History channel. You get either the first two or three episodes before you need to subscribe.
I was underwhelmed by it. Same stock footage... no deep dives.... too many talking heads. Its a bit like WW2 for 16 year olds.
