Visually looks great ... the storyline looks idiotic.

One of the most horrible features of war is that all the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting.

@rico Very much like the T-34 movie.

(although, as a guilty pleasure, my son and I did enjoy it).

Interesting, didn't see this one before. But finally - Call of Duty and Battlefield made into a WW2 movie sporting a die-hard specops Tiger tank crew! 😆

Watched it (well most of it) -- it looked good, but was basically ludicrous and rubbish.  I lol'd at the lit up and working street lights in the night opening bridge battle and Stalingrad scenes.  🤣

I kinda figured the ending and what it was about half way through ... otherwise very little makes sense.

Artistic freedom or whatever... still have to watch it so I know what's it all about.

And you have to think about the audience - do you want to make a rather realistic war movie or do you want everyone to watch it? That's the same reasoning making CM what CM is - niche is good for those that want it, but in general will not earn you that much money.

I guess you are right -- then maybe something as brilliant as Das Boot cannot be made anymore -- war films for the computer games generation.  😑

I watched the Der Tiger trailer a while back—it feels like it’s in that T-34 / Fury lane. Not expecting a classic, but it looks fun enough that I’m in.
