The first picture is of Montara proper. The photo was taken atop Montara Mt and deserves the name. My house
would be on the extreme left and probably visible if the trees would just get out of the way. Will likely happen
with the next wind/rain storm.

The 2nd picture is looking south along the coast with Montara State Beach on your right and the "hamlet" of
Montara on the left. (that's what the S.F. Chronicle called us a couple of times which I thought was cool.) If you
like fog you'd be happy here.

@mtk I don’t know Montara all that well since I rarely made it that far north. I grew up in Atherton and went to high school in Portola Valley, and when we headed to the coast we usually took La Honda Road over to San Gregorio and down to Pescadero Beach—made that trip more times than I can count. When I got a little older I’d head up to the Moss Beach Distillery (just a few minutes south of you)—loved the oysters on the half shell there. My wife really loves the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival and is already saying we should try to go again.
