@fgmbootie

Sometimes mine do that too........I was a county standard long distance runner at school, and lucky enough to spend my last 3 yrs education at school in Keswick, Cumbria........as a result I did a lot of fell running, and climbed Scafell Pike 5 times, and most of the other fells in the Lakes at least once.

When I left school I started playing amateur football........I played Saturday and Sunday Football from the age of 17 until I was 38, then gave up the Sunday football but still played Saturday football until I was 53 - my last competitive game was a cup final at Witney Town's ground - Also played at Woking Town's ground in 1993 in a charity match against a Spurs Legend 11 side that included Mark Falco, Alan Gilzean, Micky Hazard and the recently deceased Martin Chivers.

Since then I've played five a side football in a local league for 5 seasons, and at my last school where I was employed played 5 a side with the teachers - they had a points system where you got points for scoring and being on the winning side, though the teams were pulled out of a hat each week ......in the two and a half seasons I was there I never played on the losing side, something that had not been done before and has so far not been repeated.

At my current school I joined in a game with the teachers and students and as a defender would not yeald to the nippers.......got a round of applause when I came off at the end of the game as no one knew I'd played a bit before.......... played several times since and so far have not been on the losing side nor let anyone past me..........now they call me Maldini ( I also don't get any crap from them ).

I worked it out the other day and came to the conclusion that I must have played over a thousand games at amateur level, even if it wasn't at the highest standard - I was alway fit, don't drink or smoke

Remember everyone..........Football is not a matter of life and death.......It's far more serious than that!!

Steve

Hi all ... having some fun helping out @onepingonly with some map and counter designs for his brand-new CMSF campaign 😎 -- it's looking pretty good and it's a great concept -- I think players will enjoy it.

Otherwise boiling hot here ... hoping for some rain to cool things down... before heading out for a couple of games of petanque in the early evening.

Watching Toon vs Villa (wife is a Newcastle fan) and then the Gunners vs Man Utd.

Also planning my work day tomorrow which includes going through two Legionella Risk Assessments carried out last week, planning remedial works for those, along with several other Health and Safety tasks as well as reactive issues as they may occur.

Great result for Man Utd this evening!  🙂  Might have an early night or might sit and watch the Broncos against The Patriots NFL game.

I get all whiny about the temp when it gets around 50(F). 😱

😲

That must have felt cold. I don't even know what my refrigerator feels like. It's the complete opposite here. Right now, as I'm reading this, I have the kitchen door open, hoping for some fresh air. Even the fan isn't enough.
