French resistance fighters provide an honor guard while escorting two U.S. soldiers (the Cap Burton W. Benze and the Pvt. Charles Goldstone, assigned to Medical Detachment) who were killed in the village of Coulommiers. During the fighting for the town, a German tank opened fire towards an exposed American officer who was seriously wounded. When the private medic attempted to run towards the officer, he was shot and killed by the tank's machine gun. Local town officials have arrived to pay their respects and honor these fallen allies.
