Polish insurgent fighter Lt. Stanislaw Jankowski (1911/2002) and his men moments before W-hour (1700 hours) which marked the start of the Warsaw Uprising on Aug 1, 1944.
Jankowski (code name: "Agaton") was an SOE agent and Polish resistance fighter during the war, and an architect thereafter, who played a prominent role in the post-war reconstruction of Warsaw.

A very lucky fellow!!! Initially, Polish airmen arriving in the UK devoted their energies to wooing young English women; here we see Pilot Officer Mieczysław Gorzula (1919-2015) aking his first moves on the local beauties.
Gorzula was not cleared for active duty until he had mastered English well enough to make himself understood by ground controllers.
While stationed with the Polish Wing at No. 3 Technical Training School in Blackpool, awaiting his posting, this twenty-year-old pilot indulged his second great passion: meeting girls and making them feel special.
That was part of his English studies.
