3,7-inch pack howitzers manufactured by the Central Ordnance Factory in Johannesburg, South Africa...  mainly for use in the Burma, India and South East Asia/Pacific Theatre for jungle and mountain warfare.

Onboard camera from an Beaufighter of the South African Air Force firing at SS Giulio Cesare on the 28 Aug 1944. Upon returning from their mission, the airmen who sank the ship were reprimanded as their commanders believed that they had sunk a hospital ship.
In 1949, she was refloated and scrapped at San Rocco di Muggia.
