Anyone has been doing any test with direct HE fire? It seems be even less effective than a WW2 76'2. (Unless you are inside a building, of course.)
Don't know about you, but I managed to destroy MBTs with 125mm HE...
Inside a building?
I was talking about against infantry...
Forget about HE in CW...
First shots in the battle: 2 rounds from a M-16 at a running squad from 425m away, one dead.
First of all, what is a guy with a M-16 firing at a moving target more than 200m away? Is it at 300m or at 500m? I think to remember that in a .22 ammo box it says that the maximum range is 1.5 miles. We're lucky, I guess.
US forces have fired so many bullets in Iraq and Afghanistan – an estimated 250,000 for every insurgent killed – that American ammunition-makers cannot keep up with demand.
It was 50.000 in Nam, 10.000 in WWI.
Not really related, just related to ammo expenditure in Ukraine or in the Yom Kippur War for that matter.
