oh snap. welcome jackal.
you terrorisht bishes are in trouble now!
FYI - As we approach Round 2, I have started putting the *potential* Round 2 maps in the Dropboxes. For sure, Round 2 will feature a second battle in the Suburbs. Where the other battles are fought depends ont he outcome of @holoween vs @nathangun at the Farms, and whether the Rebels choose to counterattack anywhere.
Round 1 is in the books!
The Dahrani Army advanced on 3 fronts, but was denied the Suburbs by the Northern Militia. The 'Asad' Bn was also handled roughly by the Jambiya Brigade. The three losing Rebel units were all shattered, with minimal troops making their way back to friendly lines.
These outcomes were pretty well in line with the playtesting, so I am pleased. Casualties on both sides were more or less what I expected to see.
Round 2 Prep:
Here is the current state map as we go into Round 2:
There are no Rebel counterattacks until Round 3.
All the Rebel commanders rotate, so match-ups will be:
@jackal338 vs @spoogles in the Suburbs
@bleskaceq vs @holoween at the Stadium
@nathangun vs @aurelius at the River Bridge
@alby vs @doubled in the Industrial Park
Note that +1 Command Points have been given to the victorious commanders from last round. In the case of the Rebels, these points go with the commander, not the unit (i.e., Al-Nahr gets the benefit of @aurelius ' prestige from his victory in the Suburbs).
The maps for Round 2 are in the Team Dropboxes.
Both sides should update the YELLOW cells in the Deployment Matrices (Round 2 tab) in your team Dropboxes, noting your unit movements and picking which units, "Specials," and Command Points purchases you want.
Army Notes:
Each commander can decide whether to replace their current units in the Highway, Green Zone, and Farms squares with fresh, full units. Up to you.
@jackal338 will need to pick which unit to use for the second attempt to capture the Suburbs.
Rebel Notes:
Northern Militia can decide to change out Group 1 for another unit, if they so choose.
Time to undermine the opposing team's morale>

so, a lone terrorist savage without a spotter, a dude that otherwise would be baking his bread with dung, got 9 hits with his dragunov museum piece ? another bunch of illiterate conscript farm boys are able to achieve 4 hits with a highly technical 50 year old ATGM system ? Plus, another dude who has never known the luxury of toilet paper, much less a bedet, was able to shoot our fast mover with a 40 year old manpad thats been banging round on a camel ? apparently, we are facing terror team 6 here. recommend chemical weapons in this sector.
also, nice black pajamas. you guys must be the ninja brigade.
oh yes at my my new oppo, the terrorist @doubled. just know that we are not accepting surrender and not one terrorist will leave the zone alive. i am now well aware of all your fancy kit and tricks. this time we will be bringing a large can of whip-ass and we plan to open it up all over your savage traitor formation. if you surrender now, we will line you all up in the ditch and shoot you like gentleman. if not, the buzzards will eat your men and the real estate values in the industrial park will be going DOWN. just like your mom.
that is all.
That is setting quite the bar for trash talk 😆 .
as i understand it, nearly all trash talking in military units revolves around various insults of one another's mothers. i am just staying true to character. your mom apparently knows a lot of soldiers, and you might want to consult with her about this. 😉
Teams should be filling in their Deployment Matrices with any unit movement, which units they will fight with this round, picking up to 2 "Specials" for their 4 games, and purchasing add-ons using their Command Points. The matrices are in the Team Dropboxes. @doubled is the star pupil in planning, so far.
Let me know if you are having any trouble or need to understand more.
@alby , my mother made a great sacrifice to our cause. Your pathetic 'warriors' will soon be scratching their itching and tingling genitals or anal area before sores appear
Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value - A. Einstein
And the counter to that, the short-arm inspection (luckily, we didn't have them in the Army, but we were informed that they do happen)...

To the teams, I did make some minor updates the Rules file in both your Dropboxes. There were some discrepancies with the Tracker spreadsheet on costs and what you get for your $CP, which I have corrected. I also changed the Loyalists' Breach Team from 2 teams to 3, to reflect the fact that each team only carries 2 demo charges which is not a lot given the maps.
I will be headed back to China next week, so would like to kick off Round 2 this weekend. So....get your plans in, otherwise, you will all have to wait for ~2 weeks.
If you keep at it, you may get a permanent residency in China. 😆
I have a proposal for the change of TOE - in case of a counter-attack, the IED in the formation should be changed into a VBIED.
im actually in favor of that. nathangun drove some up my rear in the testing and they were fun imho.

@aurelius I agree that makes more sense, so will change if a counterattack comes up. My secret guilty CM pleasure is watching a well-executed car bomb go off. 😆
