For me, the biggest thing I’d like to see in CM3 — and it seems like a lot of others feel the same — is a proper H2H campaign system. Something where battles actually connect to each other in a meaningful way. Casualty carryover, ammunition tracking, reserves, morale effects between engagements, and operational decisions that matter (attack, defend, consolidate, halt, etc.). The tactical layer is already excellent — tying battles together at the operational level would add a huge amount of depth and replayability.

Beyond that, the things I see come up most often and that I’d personally like to see improved:

• Better performance and overall engine modernization
• Smarter AI and less predictable behavior
• Improved LOS and spotting tools
• More effective suppression and area fire
• UI and usability improvements
• Enhanced scenario and map editor tools
• More flexible movement and command options
• Better infantry/vehicle interaction (ammo sharing, logistics, etc.)
• Stronger replay and after-action review tools
• Map preview when selecting scenarios

And on a more practical note for me personally — I’d really like to see the new engine run cleanly on Mac. Native support would make a big difference and hopefully opens the door for a smoother experience going forward.

Curious to see what direction the developers ultimately take, but it feels like this is a good opportunity to move the series forward without losing what already makes CM unique.

@panzer-lehr Some awesome things in your post... I think it would be nice to consolidate what we have sooner than later or batch file these notes and send the list to the developer team?

 

Best and yes Mac OS support is a big deal...

@marder or the ability to set a minimum capture weight for each obj. For example, a squad or platoon.

Would love the option to turn engines off to reduce sound signature.... 

I think that you can already do that by selecting HIDE for the vehicles.

Curious if anyone thinks we should compile this list from members and formally send it to the current developers for consideration? 

I think it's worth while after all if you don't ask you don't get...
