I was under the impression the first phase was 30 turns, if its now doubled I would have played and planned differently lol...
Not complaining...
Copy 4 more turns LOL!!!! Not 28
@bleskaceq and @thegreatwhitenorth I have ended your Battle #1, and will take a day or so to set up Battle #2. Watch here for further comms.
-OPO
@bleskaceq and @thegreatwhitenorth - Your side-specific maps, briefing, and updated casualty tracker for Battle #2 are available in your separate dropboxes. File 001 is available in the battle dropbox. First turn should be to GreatWhiteNorth.
Remember to use only 4760 of the allocated points, which is enough to buy your force from Battle #1 and double it with reinforcements from your Tracker.
I really like the idea of linking battles across titles to make it feel more like a true operation instead of isolated scenarios. Curious to see how you handle the continuity between games — that’s the kind of experimenting that keeps CM interesting after all these years. 👍

We'll see how it goes! It worked well in testing, and we're having the first Battle #1 to #2 switchovers in the current games here. Could be a disaster and back to the drawing board, but fingers crossed it is good! I'll let the players speak for whether it is a good concept or not.
I'll be out of town again this weekend, to take my child to visit a graduate school. (yay, she made it!)
To @deadpanic and @aurelius , please continue to Turn 63 and stop, but DO NOT end the game. Just await further instruction.
@thegreatwhitenorth and @bleskaceq you should be full steam ahead for Battle #2.
Thanks guys. I’ll check it when I am back Friday. I’ll either stop the match or allow some extra time depending on what is going on. If the former, it’ll take a couple of days for me to document the casualties, set up Battle #2 and then you can buy your reinforcements. You can already be planning that using your Force Tracker, doubling the points from Round 1.
@deadpanic and @aurelius I have stopped your game at time, as it seemed like a good stopping point. I'll probably have the modified map and new briefings ready tomorrwo so you can start purchasing with 2x the Round 1 budget - buying "survivors" plus new stuff from your tracker.
Just checking in when we stop and hold for our match... I'll assume it's T 64?
best!
@thegreatwhitenorth according to the rules in soviet db, battle #2 should be 45mins+, so 15 more turns to go if the rules are correct
Yes that is correct - a minimum of 45 minutes.@thegreatwhitenorth according to the rules in soviet db, battle #2 should be 45mins+, so 15 more turns to go if the rules are correct
Congratulations to Bleskaceq on a Total Victory before the end of the second round. Well deserved and well executed indeed! Thank you One Ping Only for putting it together and my apologies on behalf of the Axis for folding up like a stepped on tin can 2/3rd's of the way in...
Some observations from my end in general...
Not being able to re-enforce Z town was a major issue from the start and could have been defended better off the start but facing a constant stream of Red Army's flow would have been a fish bowl situation imho.
My force composition and purchase was off from the start... And as we all know the bang for buck points wise always favours the Allies point for point. Under the command of a skilled and competent Axis commander this variance can be easily put aside and makes no off balance difference. However I am not there yet but enjoy being grinded into submission as it's a learning experience. Not every battle is the same but my mistakes seem to cross over regardless of title or scenario. My observations in general for me is I focus more on the units I want more than the units I need to make a difference on the battlefield including over cranking the soft factors witch bleed my overall force composition numbers where at the end I am looking at fighting an opponent with 3 to 1 or even 4 to 1 odds numerically. I seem to be stubborn and albiet underestimating in how that affects my overall game play doing so at a disadvantage from the get go with unicorn hopes and dreams. I underestimate attrition losses of my force and underestimate the amount of depth my opponent can afford losses and keep fighting in essence.
Bleskaceq did an excellent job with his purchase and his management of tempo and pacing a consistent calculated expansion of his AO and probing to block me into a corner and deny my ability to maneuver to expand my ability to move forward with any confidence.
A great learning experience never the less and I look forward to doing better with the knowledge I gained from this match.
BIG Thank you! too you both for your time and efforts! I look forward to doing better next time if the opportunity presents itself...
Best!
Martin
I would love to read an AAR with screenies etc..
@nathangun I would love to give you the honour! but this was not my best go at it but I will challenge my opponent again on a new map and keep that in mind!
