Alas, the Burgundians continue to rampage and pillage their way across France and capture AUVERGNE -- can anyone stop them?
(but that is for a another, different campaign 😀 )
It'll be up to Sir @otosan to rescue some of the battered honour of the house of Toulouse in GASCONY!

Two fairly evenly matched forces met on a field dominated by hills on one side. EoG's deadly long bowmen were balanced by my 2 light artillery. EoG feigned a retreat to entice the advance of my artillery and punished one of my pieces(a clever ruse). There was nothing left to do but charge up the heights to get at his ranged units with my men at arms.
It was a back and forth battle with my crossbowmen and men at arms turning Earl of Grey's right flank but his forces crushing and pushing back my center. Meanwhile he won the cavalry battle on my right flank and routed 2 of my 4 mounted men at arms units. Luckily for me, my advantage in casualties inflicted tided me over before his cavalry could return from their pursuit to influence the battle.
The forces of Toulouse won the battle for Gascony with a score of 31 to 61 with a 30 difference.
Thanks for the interesting battle @earl-of-grey .
@otosan -- Well done, Sir Otosan on defeating the perfidious English and their treacherous Gascon and Breton allies!!
Sounds like a fun battle and closer than the score suggests.
A lot hinges on the last battle in CHAMPAGNE -- if the King of France factions wins, they'll tie for first place with Burgundy with a +1 score each.
BATTLE 1: AUVERGNE -- @kronenblatt vs @Rico -- Burgundian (1363-1414) vs Breton (1350-1395) -- Burgundy Major Victory
BATTLE 2: CHAMPAGNE -- @nathangun vs @kronenblatt -- French (1350-1399) vs Burgundian (1363-1414) --
BATTLE 3: GASCONY -- @otosan vs @earl-of-grey -- Breton (1350-1395) vs Breton (1350-1395) Allies: English Continental -- Toulouse Major Victory
BATTLE 4: ARTOIS -- @cargol vs @chiquichops -- English (Continental) (1350-1414) vs French (1350-1399) - English Major Defeat

Go @nathangun ! Remember: ils n'aiment pas ça dedans (They don't like it up 'em!)

@rico Is that true? . I thought they'd be +2 to our +1...

If Burgundy loses Champagne, they'd get -2 for the loss of a home province and +3 for the external provinces = +1
France has zero friendly provinces lost and gets +1 for the external province = +1
SCORING
Each faction starts with a score of ZERO -- this is adjusted up or down every turn in following way:
Lost Capital Province: -3
Lost Home Province: -2
Captured Enemy Capital Province: +2
Captured Enemy Home Province: +1
