@kronenblatt I'll revel in my glory for a turn. I don't expect to have luck like that very often. The Burgundian men-at-arms disrupted at the drop of a chapeau and the low-countries spearmen crumbled like choux pastry dipped in café au lait.

🤣 It’ll even out over time: always does. 😎 Next time the Burgundians will bring plumes to drop which will make the French disrupt (and worse).

LOL... I see @kronenblatt fell victim to some of @chiquichops 's "voodoo dice rolls"...

Yes, when you mention it, it felt like pins prickling the skin. But I thought it was French arrows… Which it was, in some way. 😂

I laugh -- I don't know how it works, but I generally have to approach every battle vs @chiquichops assuming that I will lose 7 out of 10 of all crucial die rolls. 😬

My daughter is well again, then ym wife fell ill and now it'S me catching a nasty virus - which incidentally is the reason I haven't started the battle yet. Jusr my special luck... 😑
Feeling better, though, and will get on it ASAP.

Hope you're ok? You haven't touched the game yet: it's in your folder. Plus I now noticed that you've set it up as Own Side Defending, whereas it should be Open Battle. I can set up another challenge.

@earl-of-grey : I've set up another game now, as Open Battle. Password: NORMANDY

Please surrender the old game (the one that you set up). Instead pick up the challenge that I made above and deploy your units, ok?. In due course of course: when your and your family's health permits. 🙂

That's only sound risk management, @rico . 🙂 We all get our fair shares of 'lucky' die rolls. And 'unlucky'. It's only that human nature remembers own bad luck more than own luck and also that the human mind has a tendency to attribute 'luck' to 'skill' and 'lack of skill' to 'bad luck'. 😎 (All that applies to me.)

Did the virus hit the spelling nerve centre though? 😎😂

Weeell... sometimes my fingers move faster than my brain. Call it a side effect.

EDIT: My daughter is VERY well again, I assure you. Miniature tornado in fact. Thanks for all the get-well wishes!

The Duke got furious when hearing about the news of the disaster in Artois and at the threat of death penalty made all battle losses illegal in the whole of Great Burgundy.

Short-term effects were:

BATTLE 1: NORMANDY Burgundian (1363-1414)  vs Breton (1350-1395) Allies: English Continental (1350-1414)

=> kronenblatt wins 55-10 (+45).

BATTLE 2: FLANDERS English (Continental) (1350-1414)  vs  Burgundian (1363-1414)

=> kronenblatt wins 58-26 (+32).

It may backfire long-term though when aggression again is turned towards the Duke. So to manage that risk, the Duke has resigned in favour of the Dauphin, a kid truly beloved by all English, French, and Toulousians. We now expect Burgundy never to be attacked again... ever. Love thy Burgundian Brother.

That concludes TURN 3.

Major Victories for the Burgundians in NORMANY and FLANDERS.

The Toulouse Siege Roll in AQUITAINE  was a 3 ... so the province is captured by Toulouse.

TURN 4

We move along to TURN 4.

Burgundy is still in the lead with +2 points, but new possoession Normandy looks a bit isolated.

The King of England faction has taken quite a hit with losing two provinces last turn and are now on -4 points.

@kronenblatt is up first with his attack order -- but with the Burgundians new-found pacifism and love-thy-neighbour attitude, they might justforfeit their attack 😉

Attack Orders Sequence:

1. BURGUNDY (+45%) - @kronenblatt

2. KING OF FRANCE (+43%) - @chiquichops & @nathangun

3. TOULOUSE - @otosan @Rico

4. KING OF ENGLAND - @cargol & @earl-of-grey

The Dauphin of Burgundy marches into PARIS from Normandy with a fun gathering of jugglers and entertainers. He expects to be warmly welcomed and a court to be established for him in his new capital with all loving and caring Parisians joining him for a merry feast. (The sad duke is since long forgotten, this is the New Burgundy.)
