Which board wargames do you recommend if playing solitaire?
I've got Aurelian: Restorer of the World myself, but never gotten to play it.

I own this game, and rolling the dices makes me sweat, really fun, and games focused on U-boats from that era are rare. A 8.5 rating on boardgamegeek is no small feat
I've also heard and read good things about Wars of Marcus Aurelius. (Yes, I'm an ancient era junkie, as you can tell.)
This looks quite interesting...

One of the most horrible features of war is that all the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting.

Wow! That looks supercool!
This might feature something of interest
Target for Tonight and Target for Today are good. I've dipped my toe into Target for Today, maybe I should do a AAR.
I took a vassal module and added stuff, I can send it viva D.B. if you like.
I like Victory Games "Carrier" and "Toyko Express". Old school...
D-Day at Omaha Beach is a strong solitaire game, with built-in uncertainty that forces reaction rather than a fixed plan, keeping it tense and replayable.

This is a great solitaire game. It's not a dogfight game, instead you have to manage a squadron through a campaign. Dogfighting is somewhat abstracted, but generally results in ace pilots doing better than average or green pilots. Great rulebook with very few holes in it, and plays quickly.
I got this game when it came out two years ago and it is brilliant. It's like the old Avalon Hill game Luftwaffe got a facelift and a boob job and was modified for solitaire play. Perfectly captures the feel of the early bombing campaign being on a shoestring and building up until eventually by late 1944 the Allies have overwhelming strength in the air. It has several theater bombing requirements like Bridge attacks and Rail attacks that siphon units away from the strategic bombing campaign. Rules are simple and well-written, and all the components are nice quality.
Battle Hymn is a classic solitaire wargame using the Ambush! system, known for its event-driven gameplay, uncertainty, and strong replayability.

Leatherneck builds on the same system with a Pacific focus, offering a more refined and varied solo experience while retaining that reactive, narrative-driven feel.
