Hi everyone, my name is Mariano and I'm from Spain. After years of playing Combat Mission, at the end of 2024 I finally decided to join this community to broaden my experience with this amazing game. I signed up for the Red Thunder tournament organized by Sly Sniper, and the experience couldn’t have been better. Sharing the after action reviews with my teammates/opponents added a whole new layer to the game — it took everything to another level.
When the forum went down, well… as we say here in Spain, “my soul fell to my feet.” I really felt like I had lost something fantastic. You can’t imagine how desperately I kept searching around and asking what had happened!
I can’t imagine the panic Bootie must have felt watching everything fall apart. Anyway, I just want to thank him for his perseverance — with the people we have around here, things can only get better from now on.
Anyway, I’m really glad this place is back again.
Hey all,
Afrogfootman reporting for duty from Canada. Just joined the forum last year but been playing CM since 2010. Glad to see the forum's back, had a lot of fun over the last year meeting good people and reading great posts. When they knock you down, all you can do is get back up again.
Cheers
@afrogfootman Great to see you back bro! And I'm enjoying our matches! Check out What are you listening too section under the Barracks section I've been adding to the selection a bunch!
My name's Florian and I hail from Germany - Bavaria to be exact.
Have been around in one way or another, mostly lurking silently since I'm not an avid forum user like others to be honest. Some might remember me from the old(er) days when there still were tournaments aplenty and I scored my first - and only ever win - in Spike's "Ardennes Firefight" using the good ol' CMAK.
Still an armor enthusiast, tabletop wargamer and hobby texture artist/modder for various games AND proud father of a cute little 6-year old girl sharing the same love for little plastic soldiers and throwing dice around although she prefers fantasy to contemporary stuff.
Well, that's about it - good to see the community is still there and let's see what the new start will bring!
Evening all. Good to be back and to see you all. It'll take me a while to get used to the new format but it looks good, thanks for all the hard work @fgmbootie
I'm an avid FOG 2 /Medieval player , from Granada, Spain. Born and raised in England but that was a while ago now. I dabbled in CM, which is what brought me to the FGM but I soon discovered much more than that. History, stories, laughs and some great campaigning with a bunch of honourable gamers. Long live The Few Good Men!

@earl-of-grey great to see you... been a few years!
Greetings!
My name is Bob and I live in Southeast North Carolina, USA. I first began wargaming in the 1970's with SPI and Avalon Hill games. I played a lot of CMx1 in the mid- 00's but moved to other things when CMx2 came out. Recently got back into the game and am working to learn it. It does have its flaws but, I have yet to find anything else that engages me as much and I keep coming back to it again and again. Glad to see the forum back up and looking forward to the new and improved Depot. Appreciate all the work Bootie does in order to make these resources available to the community!
@fgmbootie Waaay too many - I have also lost most of my meager skills as well! 😆
@fgmbootie Thanks for creating this again. I am from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It took a while to find us again. I have been wargaming since 1974. I started off with Avalon Hill board games and slowly migrated over time to computer based wargames. I am not currently active in gaming because of not having a good enough computer to run the games. I have thoroughly enjoyed this organization.
Good Evening Folks... Roger from Halifax Nova Scotia Canada... Long time board game player (I have the complete Avon Hill Squad Leader board games). Big fan of everything CM... Glad to be part of the site removed link
Found you again, Bootie, thanks for doing this.
Probus here. o7 reporting for duty!
Been a long rough second half of 25 for me and the family but hopefully all the crap is behind us (this site renamed me spoom instead of sspoom)
Hello all! I'm amyl, fairly new to Combat Mission but getting a little bored of playing against the AI, looking to get some H2H games in! I'm from North Yorkshire in the UK and am active most evenings after work. Looking forward to getting to know the community better, cheers!
Hi I'm BlackWolf. I just started Combat Mission series and it’s so much fun! I enjoy playing against the AI more than playing against other players. Please excuse my English as I'm using a translator. Best regards!
@drewshotsfan Hey Drew! ... Let's play again soon. PM on Blitz if you want a match. Cheers mate, Art

Hi from NL,
Good to see the site is back. 🙂
Hi, I'm Jesús Manzaneque (Manzcaser), from Spain... I've been playing Combat Mission since 2003 and Field of Glory for a couple of months now. Good luck @fgmbootie with this revival of The Few Good Men. Cheers.
