I might add Flesh+Blood.
A frankly brutal and morally ambiguous story, set in the start of the plague-ridden 16th Century, featuring Rutger Hauer as a landsknechte and leader of a betrayed mercenary band.
It was made by Paul Verhoeven a few years before he did Robo Cop and Total recall, and seems to have been almost forgotten.
I haven't seen it in a while, but I remember it as about as historically accurate a rendition of that period, as I have seen.
And thus, definitely not a family friendly flick!
That was a pretty good one.
