Honestly... this is soooo true. When I was a kid we would go out drinking at 1930-ish and get back 0100 or so. These days kids dont even go out til 2200-2300!
When I was a kid the bars closed at 4am. After that we'd go to a diner for breakfast or somewhere and watch the sunrise.
And then I got a job and real life kicked in and the fun was over. 😉
I grew up during the Troubles in Northern Ireland... not a good idea to be roaming the streets at 3-4 am. LOL
We had a tour guide in Normandy, Gary Weight, who was in the British Army.
I asked him where he was stationed and he said Ireland. I said it sounded like good duty because because everyone I knew who vacationed in Ireland loved it.
He had a serious deadpanned face and I realized he meant Northern Ireland and apologized for my mistake. He said you never knew what would happen. You passed one person and they shook your hand and the next one wanted to kill you.
Nothing good about that.
