I thought it would be nice to have a space where we can share the small, everyday moments of our lives - nothing dramatic or special required. Just what you're up to, whether that's work, errands, hobbies, or just existing. I'll start...

I don't know what your weather's like, but Scotland's currently sitting at a bracing 1-2 degrees. My morning was spent in video conferences with the Battle Guide team discussing upcoming projects, and the afternoon's been dedicated to actually working on them. Really pleased to have the FGM forum operational again - it's good to pop in, reconnect with people, and help smooth out any early issues. This is phase one of the relaunch, so once the forum's ticking along nicely, I can shift focus to the other elements.

My daughter has football coaching this evening - she helps with the Under 8's - but I'm quietly hoping the cold weather and predicted hailstones will lead to a cancellation. Scotland's playing Denmark tonight for a World Cup place, and the timing couldn't be better for an evening in. My wife just announced it's snowing... here's hoping I can stay warm in the man cave rather than braving the elements!

I've got to drive about 40 minutes to get my semi-annual lab work done.

At least I get a nice lunch out of it.

This is how one parties when they are my age.

🤣 tell me about it... a lifetime of football, hockey and rugby has destroyed me.Β  I walk up the stairs and my knees sound like someone is stamping on a packet of potato chips.Β  πŸ™‚

Home alone for a while with the two dogs, got the wood stove going full crank putting out 300 degrees of beautiful warm heat in the main space. Actually love this time of year when things slow down a bit and have quiet time.Β

I at times come up with quotes and here is one from yesterday...

Preparing my Christmas vacation home. Using that as an excuse to call everybody I know over there.

@redwolf is over there anywhere nice?

I spent the evening with the family in front of the TV watching Scotland beat Denmark 4-2 to book themselves a place in next years World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.Β  It was quite nice sitting inside with the snow falling outside.Β  I don't mind the snow until I had to take the dog out for a late night pee in it!

We've had flakes but no serious snow yet, except in the mountains.Β  All the ski areas are opening up though, even if they have to make snow.

@fgmbootieΒ  - I see Scotland qualified for World Cup last night β€” first time in 28 years.

Busy work day getting everything done before my wife and I fly off tomorrow morning to Cape Town, to spend an extended weekend with my brother and he’s family in a seaside town called Gordon’s Bay, where they live.

Just to make things interesting we have to also dash out and take our cat Charlie to the vet this morning β€” looks like he has an infected tooth. ☹Β

Hey hope the cat is ok!

Woke up this morning to about 3 inches of snow over everything outside, so haven't bothered venturing out yet... even the dog gave me a disgusted look when I suggested going outside.Β  So, have settled into my office for the day, which will comprise mostly editing videos and popping in and out of here.

As an aside Scotland beat Denmark 4-2 to qualify for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico next year.Β  I was offered 2 tickets to go to Glasgow and watch the game earlier in the week but turned it down due to the 3 hour drive and weather warning.Β  Man am I kicking myself today.Β  My daughter is still pissed with me too... LOL

I bet @georgemc will be happy.Β  πŸ™‚

Today I continue with my annual leaf harvest.Β  There's a reason they call it "Fall"; actually, there are millions of reasons, and they all appear to have found my yard. So, I have to pick them up and put them in environmentally safe bags to be hauled off to the largest compost pile on the planet.

@louis Time to create a World Cup qualifier thread again. I think Bootie would like to see Scotland on that list. πŸ™‚

HOA, I'm with you. Truly leaf season here. No snow knocking on the door yet. Always hoping for a white Christmas but hasn't happened for a few years.

Has anybody been watching "The American Revolution" by Ken Burns on PBS? Excellent.
