Just looked. Here in Spain you even have to pass a 90 minute exam to get one and pay about €120 in tax!

My world is pretty chaotic right now. I’ve dismantled my daughter’s room because we bought her a new one. I had to move the old furniture to the balcony while we wait for the recycling service to pick it up. I’ve also had to cut channels in the walls to move some electrical outlets and install new ones that match the new room. And I still have to paint! At least I won’t have to assemble the new furniture myself…
On top of that, at work there never seem to be enough hours in the day. And of course, everything that used to be in my daughter’s room is now scattered all over the house, so I barely have time for anything.
Sounds like a lot on your plate, @marder. Hope things settle down soon and the painting goes smoothly!

Yes, using certain frequencies requires license. Getting one is quite simple, you have to pass exam that covers basics of radio tech, frequencies and bands. I believe entire Europe follows same principles.
However, there is a frequency range available to everyone ( licence not needed, but with certain restrictions ) and that is PMR ( Private Mobile Radio )
Just watched the England–France match. No spoilers from me, but I suspect the referees might be getting a bit of extra discussion in the pubs tonight! Quite a match. 🏉

Decided to quit smoking ( again ). I hadn't smoke for years, but re-started when my daughter was on some kind of school trip. I knew everything was fine, but i just couldn't sit still for more than 2 minutes 🙂 Also, i have totally neglected my cycling, that must be changed!

Keep it up (with quitting smoking). I'll be 10 years old next April. As for the bike, I got one in December. I hardly ever use it (almost never). It was just a whim to buy it.
