I have a fair number of other goto computer wargames. Here's my collection. I have listed only games that I still play, not older titles no longer played like the Close Combat series. I have added some happy face ratings. These are NOT quality ratings. They reflect my personal enjoyment level and/or playing time.

With respect to Total War titles I have Shogun 2, Rome 2 and Napoleon. I found all to be entertaining but eventhough I enjoy Napoleonic battles, I found that TW title the least enjoyable of the three. On the other hand I find myself playing Shogun 2, over and over. For those of you who are Napoleonic buffs, I heartily recommend Scourge of War Waterloo/Quatre Bras/Lignyand more. In SOWW you will see real Napoleonic formations and command control issues. No so in TW Napoleon. Which you will like best depends on the flavour you are looking for I guess.

I like the old Ageod games: Birth of America II: Wars in America and Alea Jacta Est with its several expansions. And I also remember fondly The Seven Cities of Gold and of course Sid Meier's Pirates (if these qualify as 'wargames'): great games with a lot of story and flavour.
One I keep coming back to solo is Unity of Command II; it’s lighter than some of the heavier titles mentioned, but the logistics and tempo decisions make it surprisingly tense, and the AI keeps you reacting instead of just optimizing a plan. I’ve found those kinds of systems tend to hold up better for solo play over time.
