We have a local minitatures gaming group that goes by the name of Historical Gaming Association of London (HGAL). We meet once a month and take it in turns to Game Master and put our own toys on the table. Games are routinely multi-player, with 5 a side. My own contribution consists of a substantial collection of 15 mm Wars of the Roses figures, a dozen 28 mm gladiators, a sizeable collection of Wings of War WWI aircraft ready to go.
Work in progress consists of 800 or so 15 mm Samurai divided into 8 clans. Sohei and Niwa have been completed and Matsuura is almost done.
Anyone else into historical miniatures?

Samurais looking great man, would love to do some miniature wargaming since I am a scale modeler so I'm 50% there, lol good luck with your battles.

I used to paint, back in the day. I did a few 15mm (Italeri?)Romans and Gauls, Goths etc, with my son when he was growing up, good fun. I spotted a box of them under the bed while cleaning the other day. I don't have the patience for it now but it's great to see what other people are up to.

I always wished I had the patience for the painting a of the figures and building terrain etc… but will have to stick to admiring the work of others.
One of the most horrible features of war is that all the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting.

Well, I do like historic wargames but apart from a short stint in Flames of War I never really found a community to play with, so I've been stuck with good ol' Warhammer 40,000 for the last 26 years... 😎
These look great
Secutor: "I think we're in the wrong forum."
Triarius: "You mean this isn't the forum in Rome?"
Secutor: "Nope. I think it's the Combat Mission forum."
Triarius" "What's the diff?"
Secutor: "Here you can fight and not die."
Triarius: "Take off eh?"

I used to play 40K back in the 90's. Go Space Wolfs.
I don’t really collect wargaming miniatures as such, but I’ve always enjoyed historical models and still actively collect 1:32 scale armor and figures. For me it’s less about gaming with them and more about the history and atmosphere — trying to capture a small moment or scene that could have happened. A lot of my interest in board wargaming probably grew out of the same thing, wanting to understand how those situations actually unfolded rather than just moving pieces around a table.
