This is an easy-to-play, great looking campaign for CMRT. I cannot remember the author's name and it is not included in the Designer's Notes. I think it was Nigel Pye. Please correct me if I am wrong.
DATE: November 1942
THEME: You are Oberstleutnant Roth, commanding Grenadier Regiment 194, 71st Infanterie Division. You have been thrown into the maelstrom that is Stalingrad and must try to at least 'survive' your deployment for 10 days with the assistance of various support elements at different times.
SIZE: The maps are large.
ESTHETIC: The look of the maps is amazing but to be thus, requires the installation of the Stalingrad Buildings mod as well as Umlaut's Factory mod. These are a MUST!
DIFFICULTY: When the Axis is on the attack, I would rate the difficulty as MODERATE. When on defence, it is EASY. The latter is primarily due to the fact that the AI in this campaign when on the offensive generally 'appears' to forge thoughtlessly towards its objectives. A German defence in depth with good fire lanes generally will annihilate the Soviet "Hurrah!".
COMPLEXITY: I have separated the concepts of Difficulty and Complexity. While combat tends towards easy, complexity tends towards the opposite end of the scale. There are a lot of German troops to manage.
CO-OP PLAY: The large force size makes this a great campaign for co-operative play; that is to say, two players sharing command of the Axis troops. This is in fact what I am doing with a local friend and we are having a great time with it. What makes this even more fun is that we are each playing remotely with little or no communication after the initial O-Group.
FUN FACTOR: 👍 😀
al O-Group, which reduces command and control communication to historical levels.

I’ve seen a series of videos on the Usually Hapless channel playing the mod in H2H, which I think is definitely the best way to play it, I’m open to game requests if anyone’s up for a match… ;). The game’s AI has never been very good — who knows, maybe with the arrival of modern AI this will start to change in games in general.
I guess the issue for some is acquiring the mod packs however they could be shared in Drop Box...
I just checked my RT folder I don't have a copy of this campaign..

Indeed. How might one get a copy, these days?
Looks like a really solid campaign — big maps, lots of units to manage, and a nice balance between challenge and fun. I always enjoy anything that captures that Stalingrad atmosphere. Appreciate the recommendation 👍
@kandu, when you get a moment, please share the campaign — I’d really love to check it out, and you already have my email from our previous pm.

Looking for a game? Challenge me here:
this campaign was made by 'Kohlenklau' i do believe, who used to frequent the BFC forums. He has made many great off the cuff scenarios, like the battle for Crete etc from the CM series. Anyone know where i can get this Stalingrad campaign? Just about to read another excellent looking book on it, (Grimm Fate) so its sure to whet the appetite for CM action.
pm me your email address and I will share a drop box with you and drop it into there.

@marder I'm probably 50% less skilled than you so I'll let you pick my side with any slight advantage if you see fit...
@thegreatwhitenorth I’ve got plenty of games right now. I’ll reach out to you once I have more free time.
