County has finally gotten around to resurfacing almost all of my neighborhood after many years of neglect.
It's a work in progress, but worth the chaos and inconvenience. Mostly.

@hedgehog My neighborhood is rural and "maintained" by the county so street repairs are sporadic at best.
My street was resurfaced about 3-4(?) years ago and the recent work was just putting a sealant on it so it won't
deteriorate quite so fast.
Soo, it's just as bumpy as it was, but now it looks good and the bumps will last longer. 🙄

@hedgehog I thought diphtheria was a thing of the past, I didn't even realise they vaccinated against it still. Apparently so, it's rare but has made a slight resurgence. I was probably vaccinated for it last time I had a tetanus jab, it seems. I work at a garden centre and do lots of work in the countryside so I should probably top up my tetanus, it's been 20-odd years since I had a jab for anything!
A guy down the road from me got TB last year, another thing I thought was in the past.
