Hi folks. I noticed a lot of ads for bug-zapper lights lately. I wanted to spread the word that these lights kill mostly beneficial insects, night-time pollinators especially. Mosquitos home in on Co2 and so do not generally go for these lights. In other words, you're killing off a host of important creatures in order to zap a very few mozzies. Without pollinators, we are effed, they are a vital part of the food chain.

@chiquichops Good point. I've read the same thing—that bug zappers kill far more beneficial insects than mosquitoes. Nature's night shift deserves a little love too. 😊

@panzer-lehr It really distresses me that these lights are becoming prevalent. I work in a garden centre part-time here in Spain too, so I want to make some flyers to inform customers as to how damaging to the environment these things are.
