A new CMFB tournament starts on December 24th, and I’ve already signed up, I've seen @cargol in the list...
I signed up but my opponent still hasn't taken their first turn. Such a waste...
@deadpanic Why not?, what do you think about this scenario? (I have never played it), I’m open to any proposals, well, proposals of a non-sexual nature… just to play. And by play, I mean Combat Mission, not in bed…
(edit) I just realized it's a very large scenario, 80 turns, so I’m fine if you’d rather try a smaller one.
Has anyone encountered a bug where a tournament game loads the wrong save file? In my case, when I try to load the tournament match, the game instead opens an entirely different saved game.
This may end up being my last “official” tournament. Not being able to communicate directly with an opponent is already frustrating, and issues like this are a real deal-breaker.
The three reason I don't sign-up to the tournaments anymore
- Players who never show up once signed up (totally ruins the score for everybody)
- No ability to contact them (give us the email or even a man in the middle system)
- have never seen the final screen of a game I have played (last turn, then no results screen)
- I hate mirrored games (give me a sly sniper tournament any day of the week and twice on Sundays)

I never liked their built-in PBEM+. Put together in haste and nobody presses the reset button on the server on weekends.
@redwolf Its not even an option for Mac users so they can stuff it where the sun doesn't shine... I don't think the new game engine will not support Mac as well so once that dust settles I'm going to have to go out and buy a proper monitor and do a shit tom of work to mirror what I have... I'm using an iMac 27" and the graphics are amazing on my monitor... The fix for tournaments in may opinion are hosting them here like what One Ping Only is doing.. I think to be honest the Host or Hosts depending on the amount of players should get paid for it and have a prize for first place... I'd pay $25 bucks for a properly managed cheat free tournament hands down...

I couldn’t finish my first round on time — my opponent started way too late, so I didn’t score many points. The second round went better, though. I’m in first place at the moment!
I’m looking forward to giving these tournaments a try once I get my Mac partitioned and running Windows through Boot Camp. From what I’m hearing, CM runs a lot better that way anyway.
Sounds like the tournament system isn’t perfect, but honestly it still looks like good fun and a great way to get more games in. Hopefully I’ll be jumping into one soon 👍🪖

The thing is that my first place in the second round is a bit misleading… Since I couldn’t finish my first round because my opponent started very late and we ran out of time, I didn’t get many points. So in the second round I was paired with lower-ranked players, which I think made things much easier for me. On top of that, I managed to win comfortably both as the Americans and as the Germans. In any case, there are still players who haven’t finished yet, and we’ll see what happens in the third round — I seriously doubt it will go that smoothly again

I don’t know if he ran into any problems, but it was odd because in the last turns he only played the German side and never sent me the U.S. Army side file, so in the end, I only managed to finish one of the three matches — very sad

Thank you @marder ! During past Slitherine's tourneys I have encountered it also my self. In one case only one game was visible to me while also my opponent couldnt see the next turn. It was as if the game had disappeared.
