@chiquichops Yeah, tbh I in no way considered the mix of troops you brought as likely for the Seljuqs. Dismounting your lancers was key. I was in no way prepared for 5 units of superior foot from you. I figured I'd be mostly be fending off Turcoman horse archers with a my skoutati shieldwall of archers. Your left flank will have to fight eventually though, or I'll just flank into the rear of your right flank.

An 18-46 win for the Seljuks in CONSTANTINOPLE. Thanks @vuk-teble

@chiquichops Yeah, I had one trick up my sleeve but wasn't enough, just fully wasn't prepared for that army composition. And the rough patch dead center cutting me in half did me no favors. Really well played. I was doomed by that unbreakable dismounted lancer I think. They rallied back from fragmented to whole while fighting my knights, right?

In Serbia the Guelphs have had a strong start against @otosan 's Byzantines, lots of crossbow fire and a lucky charge by a unit of city knights into a line of skoutati helped, and both of his Varangians have been flanked and are fragmented. This one could end quickly, or the varangians could rally back.

In Poland the Bohemians and Polish/Hungarians have both been playing it a bit coy, with some repositioning maneuvering for terrain. But the clash likely occurs next turn.

CONSTANTINOPLE falls to @chiquichops 's Seljuk Turks ... the GREEN Empire is coming along nicely with the BYZANTIUM region now under control and a healthy score of 13 points... a major power block is developing in the east.

Not much action this week in ALGIERS as @cargol seems to be away and no turns since Monday.

Has the CRETE & CYPRUS battle started ok?

@rico I guess if I can't have New Rome I'll have to take Old Rome! Though ideally I'd like both.

Good to have ambitions 😎  -- my kingdom is just trying to survive right now... LOL... I guess @chiquichops is coming after your control of EGYPT next?

@rico that would be my guess. Though I may end up with the high score again from Serbia and there's temptation to roll up into Palestine as revenge for Constantinople.

@vuk-teble Yes, that could've been a disaster for me!

@vuk-teble I meant the early rout of one of my dismounted lancers would have been a pretty bad blow. I was counting on them to cut through the skoutati but going straight to fragment was a shock. coming back from that to steady was a blessing.

@chiquichops Oh yeah, for sure. MVP for you I think. Otherwise that knight would have been in your dailami flank.

I saw that happen in my game with Vuk.  A charge, albeit flanking, from City Knights took my skoutati from steady to fragmented and broken at one go.

@otosan In the words of a Sailor I met who did the DDay landings and the south coast of France landings, "I'd do it again." (About the south coast of France, not DDay.) Really tough map and one stroke of bad luck for you there.

@rico how goes Algiers?

We are in the full on brawl phase ... still very confused and petty even... but I might be gaining the upper hand slowly with my better quality foot.

Mixed results with the vaunted camel lancers...lol

Slow going on turns as @cargol been busy with RL stuff.

@rico I like those camel lancers, but they require a little more babysitting.
